The Superwriter Icon Awards
Lin Manual Miranda appears to many as the heir apparent to broadways icon Andre Lloyd Webber and Westside Story writer, Arthur Laurents while this is a compliment for any writer, William Shakespeare also comes across in some peoples mind. The problem is he may look like the great writer but he does not have his body of work yet, and fail to attain rap creditability for a younger and older generation for the most part. Although Hamilton is not a hit with most of the hip hop community but only in the minds and eyes of white middle age adults. His works off and on Broadway has given him worldwide recognition, and status as a Superwriter however, fails thus far to grasp the icon ring for reason above.
Junot Diaz received in 2012 a $500,000 MacArthur "Genius grant" and won the Pulitzer in 2008 for “The Brief Wondrous life of Oscar Wao” splatter with over forty three unnecessary “N” words, a debacle of epic proportions, however, his achievements is extraordinary and in no way is his works thought of as hip or cool, but manages to carve a niche and appeal to a broader range audience and attain minor worldwide name recognition, some of which has come at a cost, In May 2018, the author Zinzi Clemmons publicly confronted DÃaz, alleging that he had once forcibly cornered and kissed her, which lead others to come forward.
His journey to Superwriter Icon may be hurt or lost by these serious allegations, one thing for sure his stardom will always be tainted.
As of today Junot still sits on the board of the prestigious Pulitzer.
A up and coming writer and author, Max Stravagar, born Edwin Nunez Wilches a Hispanic writer has shown much promise more than most writers of our generation, his stories and body of work, remolds tired old plots and storylines and manages to make them new again, and add fresh new ideas into the literary world.
A true ground breaker an original thinker, all of his works could be made into a film; in fact HopeRiver and Music Star Eyes is greatly sought after in Hollywood, and could be his breakout film.
His works appeals to all age’s male and female, white, black and Hispanic readers, and specializes in New Crime Fiction, a genre he created and is the first to give his fans of his music and readers a nickname in two different categories. He is planning to release an album this year putting him in the driver seat near to Lin Manual Miranda and from the likes of it Max Stravagar is a true triple threat with the ability to crush his competition in no time.
In less than one year he’s released three books touted as an instant classic, he has a readership of over seventeen million, and is expected to reach fifty million by the end of this year. For these reason he is a “Superwriter icon” in the making.
We asked Max what are his thoughts about his peers?
Quote: I do not think Mr. Miranda and the racist molester Diaz could ever surpass my genius…they are inflated with the stench of bello hello troso.
